Cuvée n° 741 Extra Brut
The 2013 harvest from Ay, Dizy, Hautvillers, Avize and Oiry: The winter was very cold and snowy, with spring and early summer staying cold and very damp, causing coulure and millerandage as well as delaying the flowering. However, August and September were warmer and drier giving us a late, but excellent, harvest. The Pinot Noir from Ay and Dizy and the Chardonnays from Avize were particularly successful. Th e harvest was complemented by the addition of some reserve wines.
The nose is delicate and subtle, floral notes dominate (daffodil/iris) with a touch of vegetal notes.
It is supple and is distinct for its fruity/floral duo. Altogether it is elegant, neither too strong nor too heavy, but nicely rounded as a whole.
The richness and the complexity of the nose are expressed in the fruity peach notes, the touch of spices (cloves) and brioche.
Strong and rich on the palate, well bodied, one finds spices and dried fruit, well-balanced; the finale is ample and rich.
Brut Millésime Blanc de Blancs 2009
Vivid effervescence flows into a beautiful string of fine bubbles which enhances the limpid gold color.
The first expressive scent gives hints of slightly crystallized yellow fruits and Mirabelle plums in syrup. The exposition to air sets cinnamon, grilled, roasting and light tobacco hints free on the final notes.
The attack is fresh. The judicious secondary fermentation is a part of the expression of yellow fruit flavors in perfect harmony with the smell. The slightly grilled final hints bring a delicate complexity.
Brut Millésime 2008
A Champagne for great tastings.
The yellow gold color with light pinky reflections is sparkling.
Fine and delicate. The exposition to air opens with subtle hints of bread and pastries and ends with dried white flowers.
Silky and perfectly balanced attack. The aromatic range goes from yellow fruits to eau de vie, cinnamon, soft spices and a hint of dried hay.
Brut Rosé LB
Made original by its dominant Chardonnay feature, its elaboration with only one batch and its vinification in wood.
The delicate effervescence shapes a persistent string of fine bubbles. The beautiful pink color with purple reflections enhances the perfect limpidity of the wine.
Round and mature, the scents are tied to the ageing. The pastry butter and vanilla smells develop into hints of toffee apple to finish with a touch of licorice.
The attack is dominated by freshness. The vanilla and licorice scents linger in the mouth with a clear final note.
Brut Réserve Premier Cru
Nobility of the blend, partial vinification in the wood for the Chardonnay, and high-standard features make the "Cuvée Réserve" the reference Champagne of the House.
The beautiful golden robe with light amber sparkles is perfectly clear. The active effervescence supplies a large string of fine bubbles.
It begins with a smell of fully mature fruits. After exposition to air, a fresh hint of dried fruits appears, and finally, you can smell a touch of honey and sweets.
The attack is round and flexible. The mature fruit is mixed with a taste of yellow fruits supported by a light noble bitter taste and a small acid touch.
