LUCE DELLA VITE
Brunello di Montalcino
Luce Brunello Vertical Collection 2009 - 2014
2009: Appearing a deep garnet red, this Brunello offers a bewitching bouquet a great depth, releasing a rich array of wild dark berry fruit, with blackberry and blackcurrant, pungent balsam and black liquorice, lifted by beguiling floral notes of iris and sweet violets. The nose offers up a richly-aromatic mosaic that boasts tangy Mediterranean scrub and concludes with intriguing impressions of charred oak, smooth clove spice, roast espresso, and dark chocolate. Rich and full-bodied in the mouth, it is well supported by a magnificent suite of velvety tannins, elegant and seductive, that drive a remarkably lengthy progression. Overall, a wine at once powerful and elegant.
2010: Dark garnet red in color, Luce Brunello 2010 boasts a bouquet that is elegant and re ned, yet remarkably dense, releasing a complex mosaic of sweet violet, blueberry, blackcurrant, and black liquorice, accompanied by pungent impressions of rosemary blossoms. Subtle notes of toasted oak crown this rich aromatic display. That same elegance is in full evidence on the palate, complemented by impressive depth and a masterfully- crafted structure. Velvety tannins offer perfect support during the wine’s progression into a very lengthy nish.
2011: Appearing a deep and intense colour with light garnet hues, Luce Brunello 2011 offers a complex bouquet, rich in notes that go from small black fruits and spices, to tobacco and tea leaves. On the palate, the wine con rms the same aromatic complexity: a soft and enveloping start is balanced by an excellent tannic texture that gives the wine a long and persistent presence.
2012: Monumental Wine.
Luce Brunello 2012 is an intense ruby red wine that presents a complex bouquet of red fruit, tobacco and chocolate aromas.
In the mouth, the wine is well-rounded, full and generous. The tannins are silky and balanced by a vibrant acidity and a very long nish.
2013: This brilliant ruby-red Brunello introduces itself with a nose distinguished by balsamic notes, Mediterranean scrub, blond tobacco and cocoa followed by notes of ripe black fruit and brandied cherries. In the mouth, the wine expresses elegantly balanced and explicit tannins supported by stimulating avour and crispness. The nish is beautifully persistent with sweet tobacco and blackcurrant jam. The wine expresses itself beautifully and is an ideal candidate for ageing.
2014: Ruby red colour with purple highlights, this Brunello welcomes us with notes of kirsch and spices and initial complex and balsamic nuances. In the mouth, the wine shows its power and substance free, however, from any excesses. Soft and well-rounded it also surprises with a crispness supported by minty highlights.
