Barolo Fossati 2011 Jéroboam Borgogno
The 2011 harvest will be remembered over the years as a vintage outside the box, if we consider the climate indexes we do not notice significant differences with respect to the average, while the thermal trend was certainly particular: characterized by periods with higher temperatures at less hot periods.
Without a doubt, the grape variety that is best suited to this vintage is Nebbiolo. The grapes that arrived in the cellars possess all the characteristics that are required for the great wines of this area: low yield in the vineyard, excellent quantity of tannins and good color as well as a really interesting aromatic framework.
After decanting the wine, the wine went into 4.500 liter barrels in Slavonian oak, then aged for 4 years to finish with 6 months of aging in bottle.
