Oltre Il DiLidia
From a very clever blending of grappa obtained by typical grapes of this region the newly appreciated Oltre Il DiLidia came recently into Berta's family. This new Grappa came alive by distilling throught a steaming system both grapes and then let them ageing in barrels. During the fifties the casks no longer in use in Sicily for the ageing of Marsala were shipped in Piedmont to the Canelli's distillery for ageing their products. Lidia had the intuition to make use of the same cask to ageing and ripening the grappa that our father Paolo was producing. This harmonious complexity between the Southern Sun, the aromatic taste of Moscato and the structure of Barbera gave birth to a distilled product for which we are very proud to launch it with the brand name Riserva DiLidia.
Höllberg Riesling GG 2015
The intensely yellow-colored 2015 Höllberg Riesling GG is ripe and intense, yet also precise and stony on the nose; it has crushed iron stones and lemon flavors, but also some herbal and tropical fruit aromas. Full-bodied, round and rich, this is an intense wine. It is elegant, fresh and racy, as well as vital and very mineral. There is a stunning grip and purity in the finish. It is dense and round, but also provided with a mouth-filling salinity, stony character and a firm structure. The fruit is mainly yellow-fleshed (but there are super ripe or even dried white fruit flavors, as well), perfectly ripe and interwoven with the stony, salty-mineral purity and the grippy structure. This is probably one of the most—if not the most—vivid, pure and tension-filled Höllberg that the WAGNER STEMPEL team has ever produced. It's a fascinating wine that was picked in between October 8-16 and should age for 15, probably 20 years

Barolo Francia 2015
Conterno's Barolo Francia is a great wine from Piedmont: a majestic expression of the Francia vineyard located in the municipality of Serralunga. A traditional vinification and a 48-month maturation in large barrels give life to an austere, soft and very structured wine, with intense aromas of red fruit, undergrowth, leather and sweet spices. At sight it has a beautiful ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose the first hints are of ripe fruit, cherry in alcohol, plum, blackberry and then close with notes of sweet licorice, leather and earth. In the mouth light tannins excellently supported by a precious minerality.
