Imperiale Rocca di Montemassi

This Gin by Rocca di Montemassi is dedicated to Imperiale, the most indomitable bull that ever lived in the Maremma region. Both a rebel and irreverent, he went on to
become a legend. Imperiale embodies the spirit of the land as well as the people of the Maremma and is powerful, intense and challenging, disregarding the obstacles of convention and taking on the most intense aromas of the Maremma.

Juniper, which thrives extensively from the Maremma coast to the Tuscan hinterland and is renowned for its excellent quality, is the main ingredient, yielding the balsamic notes and oiliness that are essential to guarantee consistency and persistence to the distillate. In addition to juniper, the recipe for Imperiale includes five other botanicals – elderflower, chamomile, curcuma zedoaria, bergamot and rosemary –, plants that grow naturally in the grounds of the estate.
Rosemary and elderflower yield characteristic Mediterranean aromas, while the blunter, drier notes come from the zedoaria. Finally, the sweetness of chamomile softens the forcefulness of the distillate, providing a refreshing and pleasantly bitter finish.
