Philippe Pacalet's Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru "Aux Chaignots" is a wine that defies the stereotypes of the appellation: while retaining the typical structure of Nuits, it acquires the silky elegance of the nearby Vosne-Romanée vineyards.

Brilliant ruby red in color, often with purple highlights when young, not overly intense due to the lack of filtration.
On the nose, it is explosive and floral. Fresh red fruits (raspberry, wild cherry) and dog rose dominate, with an iron-rich mineral undertone and nuances of sweet spices (white pepper) typical of whole-bunch vinification.
On the palate, the attack is velvety yet energetic. The tannins are fine and crisp, with a pronounced acidity that lends drinkability. The finish is long, savory, and deeply rooted in the limestone terroir, leaving a hint of damp earth and berries.
