Sasanokawa Shuzo

Sasanokawa Shuzo is a traditional Japanese liquor distillery founded in 1765 based in Koriyama in Fukushima prefecture, mainly producing sake and shochu.
The production of whiskey began only in 1946 to supply the distillate to the American occupation troops stationed in Japan.
The name Yamazakura comes from the Japanese words Yama which means "mountain" and Sakura which means "cherry trees".
