Azienda Agricola Sofia

In Solicchiata, a contrada on the northern slope of Etna, Gioacchino Sofia started this small family business. The first-born son of a family of farmers for generations, in 1980 he inherited from his father an old vineyard of 0.4 hectares at 700 m asl in Contrada Piano dei Daini in Solicchiata. The first few years the grapes and bottles were only and exclusively consumed in the surrounding area. Over the years, he managed to take over the neighbouring lands, now abandoned by farmers tired of working them.
Their children Carmelo and Valentina have been bottling the grapes harvested in their own vineyards since 2017, after gaining various experiences in local wineries.
A fine reality that immediately presents itself with fresh and authentic wines, with all the richness of this land, so rich and powerful.
