Podernovi Brunello di Montalcino 2015

Podernovi has a not too deep ruby red color, with light garnet reflections. The nose shows floral aromas of violet, cyclamen and jasmine, notes of fresh fruit and spicy hints. In the mouth it is balanced, has good structure and acidity, the tannin is smooth and shows excellent persistence.

One of the best vintages of the last twenty years. The entire vegetative cycle of the vine took place in the best climatic conditions. A winter characterized by abundant rains and cold temperatures was followed by a dry spring with slightly above average temperatures, which allowed for homogeneous budding and ideal flowering. The summer months saw few but important rains, which made sustainable and environmentally friendly phytosanitary management possible. Sunny and warm days with excellent temperature ranges brought the grapes to ideal conditions at the end of September: completely healthy berries and high acidity despite the high sugar content. The Sangiovese harvest, which ended by the end of the month, delivered perfectly healthy grapes with a very thick skin, a prerequisite for long macerations and wines with great evolutionary potential.
